Wilshere vows to stay at Arsenal forever

JACK Wilshere has made a vow and Arsenal fans should rejoice.

The injured midfielder is staying with the Gunners for the rest of his career.

The 19-year-old Wilshere made the announcement as he said he would be ready to return to training by December.

“Can I promise I will be at Arsenal forever? I can promise that, yes,’’ he said during a talk with iFilmLondon.com. “I’ve been at the club since I was nine and I’ve learned to love it.’’

Wilshere said he has seen the likes of Pattrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Cesc Fabregas and all watched them pull through and move on.

He added he hopes that younger batch of players like him, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs could create “something special,’’ while stressing he wants to be a part of the club’s future.

Wilshere has not seen action yet this season after incurring a serious ankle injury that needed a surgery, but Arsenal fans should rejoice because a recent X-ray indicated that he can already train by next month.

Although the recovery appears to be going at a slow rate, Wilseher said he is confident to resume training by mid-December and “crack on’’ and leave to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to decide to pick him or not.

Looking back at their fate last season, Wilshere said it was “massively frustrating’’ because everything seemed to be going well but their campaign ended on a sad note.

Wilshere added he was saddened as he watched his team grope for form following the exits of Fabregas and Samir Nasri, but felt relived as Arsenal slowly got back on their feet.

Their recent impressive win over West Brom was lauded by Wilshere, saying it showed the old fire of the squad.

He hailed his team’s progress as they get better every week. “Against West Brom was probably one of our best performances.

The Gunners are currently at seventh place in the league table.
