Taiwanese animated news channel covers Balotelli’s fireworks incident

Mario Balotelli’s fireworks antics have captured the attention and interest of a Taiwanese animated news channel, which as a result created a short CGI film depicting a humorous take on the incident.

The idea behind the report was sparked by a joking suggestion of a fan of the popular video game Grand Theft Auto.

After the official release date of the game’s fifth instalment was announced, the said fan posted a comment on Twitter suggesting that Mario Balotelli be the main character of the violent game.

‘I hope GTA V has Mario Balotelli as the main character,’ read the tweet of SirHeppe.

The video, created by New Media Alliance Television (NMATV), depicted Balotelli with a number of friends playing with fireworks in the players’ bathroom.  In a departure from anything that could possibly be true in real life, Balotelli’s character was then shown with fireworks exploding right out of his chest.

Despite the number of exaggerations, the video did depict Balotelli and his friends fleeing from his house as it began burning to the ground.  The next scene showed the men nearly doubling over laughing over the incident.

The video also departed from the fireworks incident as it showed the striker in action on the pitch, kicking a ball and severing an opponent’s head at the same time.

Other fictional incidents involving Balotelli can be seen in the video; some of these scenes included him sitting a car – perhaps a nod to the GTA suggestion – and showering a pedestrian with money.  The next scene shows his car being towed away from its spot as acid-green smoke emanates from its exhaust.

Even Balotelli’s fireworks safety campaign was not safe, as the video showed him lighting a massive firework right beside a bonfire safety sign.  The antic goes awry as the firework fires at an unexpected moment, launching Balotelli into the night air.

This would be the second known video of such nature produced by NMATV involving a football player.  The channel had also released a report on the incident involving Chelsea’s Ashley Cole accidentally firing an air rifle at an intern.

The video, considerably much more violent than Balotelli’s, begins with a man whose midsection suddenly spews massive amounts of blood.  It then pictures Cole wearing a clown costume and blasting away his terrified teammates with a rifle.
