Despite the accolades and the glory as one of Manchester United’s most celebrated players, it seems Wayne Rooney is set to continue pining for his dream of a luscious head of hair.

Weeks after undergoing surgery to install hair transplants, the striker’s tresses refuse to show any sign of growth, leaving his receding hairline as prominent as ever.

Furthermore, the striker might have to expect further hair loss in the coming weeks, as part of the post-surgery process is the falling out of natural hair to make way for the growth of new ones.

The hair transplant story was confirmed by Rooney shortly after the surgery, publishing a statement via his Twitter account.

‘Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant,’ the football superstar tweeted. ‘I was going bald at 25 why not. I’m delighted with the result.’

So delighted was Rooney, in fact, that immediately after the transplant the entire Twitter community was treated to a post-surgery photograph of Rooney’s newly-altered look.

Proudly brandishing his hairline outlined with fresh stitches, the striker joked of his desire to witness the growth of thick curly locks much like those of Barcelona central defender Carlos Puyol.

‘It’s still a bit bruised and swollen when it dies down u will be first to see it,’ Rooney continued. ‘Anyone recommend any good hair gel. Haha.’

Rumours of Rooney’s surgery surfaced after the appearance of photos of the striker leaving the Queene Anne Street Medical Centre, in which one of the clinics housed is the Harley Street Hair Clinic.

Whatever after-surgery process might take place may become visible in the coming weeks.
