Football star David Beckham will reportedly receive a total of £12.5 million should he sign and seal a deal with French squad Paris St. Germain.
The former England skipper is practically on his way to signing an 18-month agreement that would give him £160,000 a week.
Beckham moves to PSG along with former Premier League manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is to replace Antoine Kombouare who was sacked yesterday.
Ancelotti, who will come to PSG after being fired from Chelsea months ago, will pick up a total of £110,000 a week for a deal that seals him with the club for 2 and a half years. In its totality, the Italian will be receiving over £14 million as he attempts to drive PSG to further greatness.
Beckham, whose contract with American team LA Galaxy is set to terminate this weekend, is said to be only one of a number of signings that PSG plan to acquire. The French club are also said to have Chelsea’s Florent Malouda and Real Madrid’s Kaka in their radar.
As for Ancelotti, the move to PSG would see him resume his managing activities that were ended last May as Chelsea failed to bag any silverware. His decision to sign with the French squad will however cost him a total of 5 months severance pay from the Blues.
Ancelotti’s paycheck at PSG will make him the highest paid manager in the entirety of French football.
The big-money moves of the two individuals however came as anything other than pleasant for some individuals, particularly France’s Socialist Party politicians who have in response demanded that a law assigning a maximum salary cap be signed.
AUTHOR’S OPINION
To some, the big news here would be Ancelotti’s return to football, other than the millions that Beckham is (of course) expected to receive. Great and exciting to see the Italian back in the game. For most people, it would be hard not to wish him the best, and Offsidenews.com wishes him nothing more than luck and victory.
