AC Milan out of Tevez talks

Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez sees his future hanging in the balance after AC Milan pulled out of the talks to sign the striker.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed on Thursday that they no longer have the need for Tevez after Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato turned down a £30-million bid from Paris Saint Germain to stay with Milan.

Milan were supposed to use the funds from the Pato deal to strike a favourable contract for the controversial Argentine.

However, with Pato staying, no money is available to swoop Tevez.

With the development, Galliani closed the discussions for the Argentine bluntly saying, “Tevez will not join Milan.”

Before this, all discussions assumed that Tevez was moving to Italy – reports even stated that he was shopping for a new home in the country.

Inter, ironically Milan’s fiercest rival, are now considered to have the best chance in signing Tevez. Club president Massimo Morrati released an early statement clearly showing disappointment when things appeared to be turning in favour of Milan.

When asked if Tevez was going to AC Milan, he answered, “I think so.”

Now, with Tevez clearly out of Milan’s radar, sources say that Inter have reopened formal talks with Manchester City for a possible agreement.

Aside from Inter, PSG have also expressed interest in signing the estranged player. Since the talks with Pato have fallen out, the wealthy French club are entertaining the fact of acquiring Tevez.

The Argentine has not played for City since September against Birmingham City in a Carling Cup tie.

According to reports, Tevez is currently in Argentina as he waits how the developments unfold. He has not reported back for City and has been found enjoying the simpler life – playing golf and being with his family.

He allegedly refused to come on as a substitute for a Champions League match against Bayern Munich, making the relationship between player and management – particularly City manager Roberto Mancini – go sour.
