This match faces off two teams that remain unbeaten and are fighting to keep their records intact.

The Premier League shows Newcastle United with a solid form that remains untarnished for 14 straight games. But their next challenge sees them travelling to the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City have stood their ground and defended in an impressive way.

An exceptional home defence exhibited by Roberto Mancini’s men may make this Newcastle’s most difficult test yet, with their less threatening away form.

This may be Newcastle’s most difficult test yet, coming into enemy territory with an away form that shows 3 draws and 3 wins in 6 games. Although this may seem impressive, they take on a team who have blazed through 15 games incurring 14 wins and 1 draw.

To Newcastle, this is no ordinary match. They have three options: slay the giant, steal a draw, or say goodbye to their untarnished record.

In no mood to give up

Newcastle United have a herculean task at hand in the Premier League this weekend and that is to stop the Manchester City juggernaut.

But can the Magpies do it? It is doable but Newcastle need to pass through the proverbial eye of the needle to accomplish it.

Trophy-hungry City appear in no mood to stop their winning binge at this point and want to remain at the helm as long as they can muster, the better if it takes them all the way to the title-clinching momentat season’s end.

Playing at the Etihad Stadium could give the Magpies a hellish experience as they were soundly thrashed there by City in their last 2 visits.

And here’s bad news for Alan Pardew’s side: City star Sergio Aguero has recovered from his groin injury and is ready to go goal-hunting again. Newcastle defenders must work double hard to put the clamps on the Argentine striker. They should also be wary of the revitalised Mario Balotelli.

Magpie season

This might be the point where Newcastle say goodbye to their impressive streak.

Manchester City are currently riding high in the Premier League, and I doubt that Newcastle could touch their massively threatening 15-game unbeaten streak (featuring 10 straight wins).

Based solely on form, Newcastle have shown themselves less intimidating on the road compared to City at home. Mancini’s boys are out for blood and it seems no team could bring them to their knees.

And considering how City have beaten the Magpies in their last 9 matches, there is no question: the home squad will steamroll over Newcastle just as how they’ve done with every other team that has entered their lair.
