There’s nothing like the love between two heterosexual men.
We believe we made that argument in Part 1. Now allow us to further our point.

After the surprising loss to England, chances are Spain’s players would need the kind of comfort that combines encouragement and shock relief.
And as far as Xavi and Andres Iniesta are concerned, those can only be found in each other’s arms.
Their lives became entwined when a young Iniesta joined the ranks of the Barcelona youth team in 1996. The newbie eventually found a friend in an older Xavi, who had been with the squad since 1991.
A mentor-student apprentice eventually grew, and later on bloomed to become one of the closest hetero man-on-hetero man relationships any football fan would be exposed to.
Their friendship would lead to a kind of oneness that would go from figurative to near-literal. And by that we mean they wear each other’s numbers.
Google it if you’d like: Xavi wears the number 6 for Barcelona and 8 for the Spanish team; Iniesta wears 8 for Barca and 6 for Spain.
Touching. Weird, but touching.
“Beckville”
There was no wedge, no issue, no social scandals that could sever the relationship of David Beckham and Gary Neville. These two lovebirds were seen doing things that bordered between man-love and, well, something else.
Off the football field, Beckville were seen golfing together (which was of course what best friends do) to what can only be described as rehearsing for domestic life. When the two were filmed at Neville’s house cooking together, we couldn’t help but hope for the best for these two lovebirds.
And when Beckham said that Neville was one of a handful of men he’d trust with his wife Victoria Beckham naked, well, that’s a sign of unbridled (and a bit unorthodox) type of trust that makes relationships last.
Their fairy tale ended, however, when Beckham left United for Real Madrid, shattering a friendship that seemed untouchable.
And when Neville retired from football, as a show of undying love, Beckham (already with LA Galaxy at the time) flew to England to don a Manchester United shirt and play at Old Trafford for Neville’s testimonial match.
Nothing like a bittersweet ending.
“Becksillas”
Pained by his separation from Neville, David Beckham found solace in Iker Casillas’ goalkeeper man-hands.
For the heartbroken Beckham, it seemed all that was needed was a person who would make him forget those lovely moments he and Neville shared.
The pair launched a friendship that involved a lot of public display of affection, from piggyback rides to plain rolling around n the grass like a young movie couple.
There was no shortage in Casillas’ part to express his affection for Beckham. And when Beckham announced that he was leaving Real Madrid for LA Galaxy, his better half had nothing but good things to say about the man he loved.
‘He is a great player and a great professional and has always given everything for Real Madrid,’ Beckham said. ‘He’s also a magnificent person.’
With Beckham rumoured to be exiting LA Galaxy and heading back to Europe, one can only imagine the longing, hopeful look in Casillas’ eyes, perhaps praying that David would find his way back to his side.
On Monday, Manchester City beat defending champions Manchester United 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium after a header by captain Vincent Kompany in the dying moments of the first half.
